1953 MARTIN 00-18
Old School Cowboy 00-18
Offering this "Outstanding" 1953 Martin 00-18 shown in the photos. This belonged to an "old school" country boy performer who had added his name in stick on letters to the top. They've been removed and only the shadow remains which I think makes her "Outstanding" in the true sense of the word in that she is easy to pick out in a crowd of Martins. A good opportunity to pick up a vintage 00-18 at half the going price.
A while back someone emailed a photo showing this country performer with this Martin. The photo ,along with his 45 rpm record "Please Mr. Bellhop" by Carroll Arnold was part of a display he was offering for sale on ebay....unfortunately I lost track of the seller and missed the offering.
In any case, this 58 year old gal is all original...finish, bridge, saddle, tuners, etc. and has that good old Martin sound.......as with most Martins from this era it will benefit from a neck reset and it does have its share of character nicks and bruises. Count on her to know lots of songs....
