Vintage Wm F Ludwig calfskin head

Offering for your consideration this original old calfskin head. The calfskin is marked "Wm F Ludwig Selected" and , although it does show signs of use from being mounted on an old open back banjo for years, it has no rips or tears that I can see anywhere. As with many old open back banjos , the rim was not perfectly round so this head measures 11" one way and closer to 10 3/4" the other way....as most know this is not much of an issue when refitted to a round rim. Also quite useful in restoration as many of the old open backs have imprecise diameters. Nice touch for that cherished old open back.. Great opportunity to get the original sound on that old banjo....
